Having come back from a holiday in Shoal Bay, it is fitting to pay tribute to some of the amazing beaches in Port Stephens and surrounds.

This beautiful wild beach is a short walk from where we stay, near the Tomaree lookout walk (not for the faint hearted).

Zenith always turns it on, with its wild surf, ever changing colours and visiting dolphins. And the best thing is, often you can get it all to yourself.

This is an alla prima painting - done in one sitting, without drawing or too much thinking, immersed in daydreams of the ocean.
