On my way home back from work, I go past the Burwood Chinatown. The narrow laneways, lanterns and neon lights look especially dramatic on a rainy winter night, with the weather giving the scene a decidedly Blade Runner feel.

I kept this paitning deliberately loose, starting with a wet on wet approach, building up the layers of reflections and shadows. I added some structure and texture with pencil to give some areas more definition.
