Sydney Rowing Club
Sydney Rowing Club
Linocut on Kozo Japanese paper. 43×43cm. Framed. Ed. 1 of 5
I have been experimenting with linocut printing recently and found the perfect subject for the discipline of making decisions about lines, tone and balance between light and dark, and level of detail. I have painted the heritage Sydney Rowing Club in Abbotsford Sydney many times before, and this is a new take on the old favourite.
I originally tried this print in black and white, but it was too harsh. The Prussian blue ink I created makes more sense and gives this print a more vintage style, combined with the lovely creaminess of Kozo Japanese paper.
The artwork is the first edition of a limited series of 5.
It has a premium quality cream mat and a glass front.
There will be a few other works in this series.
